month (2017-18)
Einar Torfi Einarsson
This piece is a month long intermixture of sounds, including field recordings in the icelandic lowlands, scottish moors, egyptian pyramids, caves in columbia, in moscow inner city, deep see areas near north pole,
swimmingpools in italy, underground trains in romania, as well as speeches given by mayors of many small towns with the population under 250 in 5 different countries, and many conversations with many homeless people as well as few millionaires, a reading from the old scriptures, as well as many performances of many classical pieces of the world music, and many more non-classical music excerps for various string instruments, and a recording of myself and 3 other people and our daily activities during a whole month (with internalized microphones), as well as vacuum cleaners, natural wind, animals of the mammal type, forests and insects. In particular, these sounds happened in the period 1-may 2017 to 31-may 2017 and were recorded with the help of many volunteers and paid individual both legally and illegally.
The resulting chaos requires a submerged listening as difficulties to fathom origins or any kind of clarity rise to (un)imaginable degree.
